Here are some bits and pieces from our summer with thanks to random photos; these could be too easily forgotten in the literal fog that now envelopes us in the fall!

We spent many a twenty minute time block drawing with chalk on the driveway and park sidewalks. Shortly after aunt Chyna left, Harrison told me to draw our house and our family. He instructed me to draw (from left to right): daddy, mommy, Harrison, Winston and Auntie Chyna.
Another fine day at the zoo climbing through the landscaping that our of context actually looks a bit jungle like, especially when Harrison wears his "adventure hat."
After autumn had arrived, we had a sunny and warm Thursday at the end of the month so we went to Silver Lake Park to play. It only took two minutes for Harrison to walk into the lake and only 30 seconds longer for him to fall and emerge completely soaked head to toe. It was his last day in the water for the season and he made the most of it making two new friends, throwing sticks in the water and digging in the sand with them for the next 45 minutes.
A warm evening in August with dad on our friend Joe's boat. Harrison was talking about it for days. I also want to take this opportunity to note that Joe is also responsible for teaching Harrison how to do fist bumps when he was about 16 months old. In many situations when we ask Harrison to give someone a high five or even just say "hi" and he feels too shy, there is something fun and easy about a fist bump he can offer up instead. For the past couple months, when I put Harrison into his crib at bed time, he insists that we do double handed high fives, double handed fist bumps capped off with big hugs, kisses and I love you's. So Joe, thank you for that, it's a lot of fun!
